This community-connecting event will allow guests to meet with potential employers, connect with community resources, visit the IowaWORKS Mobile Workforce Center, get an inside look at Mary J. Treglia Community House, enjoy free food trucks, play games, win prizes, and have fun! Along with an engaging and interactive open house allowing guests to discover more about Mary J. Treglia Community House, the event will also include a dynamic career and community resources fair that shares helpful insights and information. “This event is all about sharing our story and highlighting not only the work of Mary J. Treglia Community House, but also the diverse people we serve,” shared Executive Director Barbara Newhouse. “We’ve been part of the Sioux City landscape for more than 100 years and we have a rich legacy of helping newcomers to this community—but there are still some people who may not understand what we’re all about. We want to change that.” Founded in 1921, Mary J. Treglia Community House provides family services, citizenship classes, English language instruction, an accredited preschool, and Department of Justice-certified legal services to help people new to Siouxland and to the United States.
